When I was tweeting with Applebees on Friday during their #livelunch fitness chat.. I got a couple of questions asking regarding the difference in working out alone vs in a fitness group or with friends.
There is a significant difference, but it all depends on yourself and what you are looking for in your journey. If you are new and don’t know what to do in the gym, then a class is perfect!
Here are some other things to keep in mind to maintain your goals and be comfortable in the gym too:
Find a buddy that is on your level, or willing to work hard with you. There is no problem going to the gym together but if your on different fitness levels, it might be okay to go on and do your own thing for that hour.
Make sure your classes challenge you! A lot of times instructors will have a class that are easily modified. You need to recognize if a class is too easy or too hard and accomodate that way.
Don’t be afraid to be alone. Going for the first time with a friend is fine, I actually do that myself. However, your goals are YOURS, you have to be comfortable going alone if your friend can’t make it or keep pushing yourself to get those goals.
